Hand Chain and Lever Hoists

Originally established in Danville, Illinois, the Coffing Hoist Company was aquired by the Duff-Norton Company of Charlotte, NC in 1955. Manufacturing of Coffing products was moved to Charlotte in 1960 and then to its present facility in Wadesboro, NC in 1966.

The employees of Coffing Hoists pride themselves in offering a wide range of products to meet lifting, pulling and rigging needs. Years of engineering know how, dedication to superior manufacturing and valued customer input have led to the design and continuous refinement of each Coffing product.

Yale Hoists

Wire Rope Hoists

Electric and Air Hoists

Hand Chain Falls and Lever Hoists

In 1875 the modern hoisting industry was established in the United States when Henry R. Towne of the Yale Lock Manufacturing Company obtained the exclusive rights to build the Differential Pulley Block from Thomas Weston, a British Mechanical Engineer, who invented the device in 1854. Weston then as an employee of Yale invented the Weston Screw Load Brake in 1877, a mechanical load control brake, of which modern versions are still the industry standard today.

In 1938 Frank Locke, an engineer recruited from the Krupp Works in Germany, developed the Cable King hoist. The Cable King was the first large capacity electric wire rope monorail hoist and is the predecessor of the modern Cable King line sold today. Since the 19th Century scarcely a year has gone by without new, better hoists and improved features introduced.

The momentum that started over a century ago continues today. Yale hoists are used in every country of the world in every kind of application imaginable. Quality, time-tested hoists for standard and special applications are the hallmarks of Yale. Yale hoists are sold through a worldwide organization of dealers. Parts and service depots are found in all major metropolitan areas around the globe. Well into its second century of existence, Yale, an ISO9001 certified Company, is committed to maintaining the role as industry innovator and leader.

Reuland

Brakes

Reuland offers a wide variety of brakes for various applications. Our popular MagnaStop brake is a solenoid activated, spring set type brake. The MagnaStop brake is available in standard and dust-tight/waterproof enclosures in standard AC voltages. Torque ratings available range from (1.5-20) lb. Ft. The brake can be ordered as a traditional C-face mount or as a "double C-face" design. The MagnaStop can also be ordered as foot mounted design.

Reuland also offers a wide range of direct acting magnetic disc brakes. These brakes are also available as standard, dust-tight/waterproof, or marine duty enclosures. Torque ratings available vary from 1.5 to 1000 lb. Ft. Reuland brakes are defined as "fail safe". When power is applied to the brake, the brake releases the motor shaft. The load is then free to turn. When power is removed or lost, the brake grabs the motor shaft and stops the load. A brake release knob or flipper is provided to manually release the brake. We offer both adjustable and non-adjustable designs. Reuland brakes are available in both single and three phase designs. Some brakes are available in DC power. Finally, Reuland offers it's "X" series brakes. These brakes are designed to mount to non-Reuland built motors.
